Italian Distribution of LoRaWAN sensors

On September 15, 2020, the Italian government approved an amendment removing the temporal restrictions to LoRaWAN^TM finally unblocking investments in the IoT for the nation. What is the streaming mode?

The streaming mode allows advanced data processing thanks to the timestamping of each pulse emitted by a water or gas meter.

This mode allows a very fine analysis of consumption profiles.

How streaming mode works ?

• The timestamps of each pulse are compressed and stored in memory by SenlabM.
• A radio message is transmitted as soon as there is enough available measures to fill a LoRaWAN frame or there has been no transmission for a given period of time.
• SLCodec allows to decode the radio message and thus to retrieve the timestamps of each pulse detected by SenlabM.

What is going on ?

The streaming mode is able to transmit compressed timestamps of pulses output by the water and gas meters and captured by Senlab M.

SL Codec allows to retrieve the timestamps of the pulses from the radio messages generated.

In conclusion, the streaming mode allows a very fine analysis of water and gas consumption measures.
